In a Facebook, Governor Little shared support for Shaw. Little said:

Idahoans, please join me in praying for wildland firefighter Justin "Riley" Shaw, who was injured while responding to a fire. Our brave firefighters give their all to protect us from harm. Teresa and I pray for Riley's recovery and for his loved ones to be surrounded in support.

Original story

Boise is rallying behind the family of a 26-year-old firefighter who was seriously injured fighting a fire in central Idaho.

Twenty-six-year-old Justin "Riley" Shaw is a dedicated wildland firefighter from Boise. Shaw was deployed with other U.S. Forest Service firefighters to a new fire start in the Salmon River Ranger District. A falling tree hit Shaw as firefighters made the initial fire attack and was transported by Life Flight to Lewiston then Spokane, Washington.

A GoFundMe has been established to help support the family who are traveling between Boise and Spokane to care for Shaw while he remains in the ICU. Information shared by the fundraiser says that Shaw is currently in the ICU with a traumatic brain injury and several broken bones. He is expected to remain in the ICU for the foreseeable future.
