PRIEST LAKE, Idaho (AP) - Bonner County officials say a woman has died in a fire in northern Idaho.

Sheriff Daryl Wheeler tells the Bonner County Daily Bee that the fire broke out at the McDonald Logging Co. in Priest Lake at about 6 p.m. Monday and destroyed the living quarters of the building.

Wheeler says Ron and Shirley McDonald were both home at the time. However, officials are awaiting autopsy results before identifying the victim.

West Priest Lake Fire District Chief Tim Ventres says Shirley McDonald was in the house preparing dinner and doing the company's financial record keeping while her husband was working in a shop when a passer-by noticed the flames and alerted Ron McDonald.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
