Kenny Wallace deems Hailie Deegan going to get a chance with Haas

Publish date: 2024-07-25

Hailie Deegan’s NASCAR career is at the crossroads after she lost her Xfinity Series seat with AM Racing. She came into the 2024 season with the hopes of re-establishing herself as a promising talent after three failed seasons in the Truck Series. But things only went from bad to worse for her, as she failed to get the best out of the car she got from AMR.

But there is still hope for Hailie Deegan and if everything went, she would get an opportunity to race for a championship winning team in Haas Factory Team, which would replace SHR in 2025. Joe Custer recently confirmed that the team has spoken to the driver about a potential future together in the second tier. Now ex-NASCAR racer Kenny Wallace came forth sharing his verdict on the move.

Wallace, who has long been a vocal supporter of Deegan, believes the female racer would get a second chance with Haas. He reckons Gene Haas team would field two Xfinity Series cars, with two new drivers as they announced, and one of the seats would go to star driver.

It's not official but I think Hailie Deegan's going to be in a second, they're (HFT) going to field two Xfinity cars, and I think she's going to get a chance.
Kenny Wallace said via his YouTube Channel.

Kenny Wallace doubts Hailie Deegan didn’t have great cars

While further talking about the point, Kenny Wallace shared his doubt Hailie Deegan failed in her first two attempts in NASCAR because she didn’t have the car that suited her. Haas might be the car she needs to prove herself again.

It's like everybody, let's see what they can do in a good car you know, and as far as her not running good in the Truck, well maybe she was in two vehicles that were not up to par, maybe they just keep giving her a car like 'Here you go' give it to the girl, maybe.’
Kenny Wallace said.

The HFT chance probably would be Deegan last chance to make in the sport. It will be a make it or break it seasons from 2025 onwards. Haas hasn’t yet announced the driver’s line-up for the next-season, and fans are waiting to see if Deegan is getting the seat.
