Lionel Messis wife Antonella Roccuzzo once dated this man after the Argentine left Rosaria for Ba
Lionel Messi and his wife Antonella Roccuzzo are believed to be childhood sweethearts. But it appears that things weren’t exactly like this always. According to reports, there was a third brief figure in their relationship which lasted over a decade.
It all started when the Argentine superstar Messi left Rosario, their home town, for Spain to play with Barcelona. As a result, his relationship with Antonella became ‘platonic‘, according to Spanish newspaper AS. After Messi left for Spain, that’s when Antonella started dating another man, whose name hasn’t been revealed till date.
However, Messi returned to Argentina a couple of years later. Antonella then broke things off with her ex and the rest is history.
The guy in question later shared this philosophical quote to a local newspaper in 2010. He said,” What happened to the ex, you ask? She dumped me. But at least she didn’t leave me for any old bloke. She dumped me for Messi. We can’t argue with that! “
Lionel Messi and Antonella Roccuzzo are happily married since 2018. And they are parents of three kids, Thiego, Mateo and Ciro. The family currently lives in Paris, France.

Messi is yet to sign a contract renewal with PSG amid chances of a Barcelona return seems to be getting stronger
Lionel Messi ‘is hoping to hear from Barcelona president Joan Laporta‘ over a sensational Nou Camp return this summer. According to reports, Messi is reluctant about signing a new deal with Paris-Saint-Germain amid suggestions of a return to Barcelona.
Barcelona have reportedly admitted their desire to bring Messi back to the Nou Camp. Vice president Rafael Yuste said that the club’s eager for him to return. There has been contact between Laporta and Messi’s father, Jorge, but the player would like to hear Barcelona’s proposal directly. Messi’s current contract with PSG is set to expire at the end of June. And there remains much uncertainty over where he will be playing next season.
A return to the Camp Nou is a possibility. However, Barcelona’s continued financial difficulties could prove to be a problem in terms of getting a deal done. Messi has scored 19 goals for Christophe Galtier’s PSG this season. During his time at Barcelona Messi scored 672 goals. And he cemented his status as one of the greatest players ever. The 35-year-old remains capable of playing at a high level. But there are still hurdles to go through if a return to Barcelona is to occur. If Messi did go back to Barcelona then he would be playing under Xavi.
There have been suggestions that Barcelona are planning to reduce their wage bill in order to fund a move for Messi. Al-Hilal had also previously been linked with a £400m transfer for Messi. Although, Messi reportedly rejected the order as he wants to play in Europe atleast for the couple of years.
