Three-vehicle collision in Minidoka County halts traffic on Eastbound I-84
MINIDOKA COUNTY, Idaho (CBS2) — According to a recent news release, Idaho State Police are investigating a three-vehicle collision from 3:07 p.m. on Eastbound I-84 at milepost 208 in Minidoka County.
A 43-year-old male from Mountian Home, Idaho, drove a 2013 Dodge Dart eastbound on I-84 in the construction zone. The driver of a 2016 Kenworth semi-truck, a 67-year-old male from Weston, Missouri, was slowing down for traffic as the lanes merged into one.
A 45-year-old male from Jerome, Idaho, drove a 2021 Peterbilt semi-truck behind the Kenworth. The Dodge merged into the left lane between the two semi-trucks. As the Kenworth slowed down, the Peterbilt collided with the Dodge, which struck the Kenworth.
The Peterbilt's load became unsecured off the trailer, traveling into the right lane and the construction area.
The driver of the Dodge was transported via ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. All drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The eastbound lanes were blocked for approximately an hour and a half. The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
