Watched that fight like 500 times Glover Teixeira reveals that Alex Pereira makes him rewa
Former light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and current UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira have been training partners for a long time. In fact, Teixeira was in Pereira’s corner when he won the title off of Israel Adesanya. Needless to say, the pair of Brazilians are very close friends.
Teixeira spoke about this on the MMA Hour podcast with MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani. He said that the two of them hang out all the time. Glover explained that he usually invites Poatan over with his kids, and grills some hamburgers for everyone as they relax and just hang out.
However, Teixeira revealed a habit that Alex Pereira has of which he isn’t a fan. Glover told Helwani, “I like to hang out and talk sh*t. But then he sits down in front of the TV, ‘Hey can you put my fight on?’ And its like ‘Bro I’ve already watched that fight like 500 times’ and he keeps watching it.”
It seems as if no one is a bigger fan of Alex Pereira than Alex Pereira. However, he can’t be blamed after the comeback victory he produced at UFC 281 against Israel Adesanya. Whether Glover Teixeira will survive the 501st rewatch with Poatan, however, is another matter altogether.
Glover Teixeira believes Alex Pereira would dominate Israel Adesanya in a rematch
Teixeira as mentioned before was in Pereira’s corner for the title fight against Israel Adesanya. The fight went a lot like their second fight from Glory. Adesanya dominated Pereira for the majority of the fight. However, Pereira managed to turn the tide in the final minutes of the fifth round and knocked out ‘The Last Stylebender.’
A rematch seems to definitely be on the cards. Teixeira spoke to Helwani on the same episode about their rematch. Glover feels as if his friend would change the story from their first match and dominate the former middleweight champion. The former light heavyweight champion said “I think that fight happens right away, right now. And I think Alex would beat him in all the rounds. And it’s their last fight.”

Glover Texeira seems supremely confident in his friend’s abilities. And if Pereira manages to come through, he will have firmly established the fact that he has Adesanya’s number in both MMA and kickboxing. However, only time will tell if this rematch really goes that way.
